About NameFlow
Is NameFlow free to use?
Yes. Searching, AI name ideas, prices and the TLD directory are free and do not need an account. AI searches have a daily limit per IP address (see below).
Can I buy a domain on NameFlow?
Yes. Add names to your cart, sign in, and pay by card. Domains are registered through OpenProvider, an ICANN-accredited registrar. See Buying a Domain.
Do I need an account?
Not to search. Searching, AI ideas and prices work without signing in. You need an account (Google or email and password) to buy and manage domains.
Can I manage DNS or nameservers for a domain I own?
Yes, for domains you registered with NameFlow. Open My Domains and choose a domain to edit DNS records or change nameservers. See How DNS Records Work and Understanding Nameservers.
Will my domain renew automatically?
Only if you turn on auto-renew. It is off by default. See Auto-Renew.
Can I move my domain to another registrar?
Yes. See Moving a Domain to Another Registrar.
Do you offer WHOIS privacy?
NameFlow does not sell a WHOIS privacy or proxy service. Many registries already hide personal details in public lookups. See TLD Rules and Restrictions.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Cards, through Stripe.
Searching
What is the difference between typing a name and describing an idea?
Nothing you need to choose. The search box handles both. A single name such as chillmail is checked as-is on popular extensions; a description such as an app that plans hikes produces AI-generated names that were checked for availability. Details: Searching for Domains.
Which AI model writes the name ideas?
Google's Gemini. Your description is sent to the model to generate names, and the names it returns are then checked for real availability. See Using AI Name Suggestions.
Why did I get a "limit reached" message?
AI searches are limited to about 5 per minute and 30 per day for each IP address. Price lookups have a separate limit per 15 minutes. Wait for the countdown, or try again later. See Rate limits.
A domain shows as available. Is it reserved for me?
No. Availability is checked live when you search, but anyone can register a domain at any moment. Nothing is held for you until you complete a registration.
Why is a short or common word so expensive?
It is probably a premium domain: the registry sets a higher price for desirable names. See Checking Domain Availability.
Prices
What currency are prices in?
US dollars.
Why are there two prices?
The first number is the first-year price and the second is the renewal price you pay each year after. They can be very different, especially on promotions. See Understanding Domain Pricing.
What is the ICANN fee?
A fee of $0.20 per year that ICANN charges on generic extensions such as .com, .app or .xyz (and a few others, such as .io). It is added at checkout. Many country-code extensions, such as .co, .ai and .me, do not carry it.
How current are the prices?
Prices come from the registrar and refresh about every 30 minutes.
Extensions
How many extensions does NameFlow list?
{{TLD_COUNT_DISPLAY}}. Browse them all in the TLD directory.
Can anyone register any extension?
No. Some extensions require a local address, a registered business, or a specific profession. Each extension's page lists its rules. See TLD Rules and Restrictions.
