You can use NameFlow from an AI app such as Claude or ChatGPT, or any other app that supports MCP (Model Context Protocol).
How to connect
-
In your AI app, add a connector (sometimes called an MCP server) with this address:
https://mcp.nameflow.dev/mcp -
Sign in to NameFlow when asked.
-
Approve the connection.
To see or remove connected apps, open Account and go to Connected AI apps. Each app shows where it connects from (for Claude, claude.ai), when it connected and when it was last used. Connecting the same app again replaces its previous connection.
If your AI app says it can't find the server or shows an HTTP error, check the address: it is exactly https://mcp.nameflow.dev/mcp, with no dot at the end.
What a connected app can do
- Search for names, check availability and prices
- List your domains
- Read your DNS records
- Propose DNS changes. You approve them on nameflow.dev before anything changes.
- Give you a link to buy a domain
- Buy a domain for you, but only if you allowed it (below)
A connected app never sees your card or your domains' transfer codes, and it can't approve DNS changes.
Letting an app buy domains
By default an app can't buy anything. It gives you a link, and you buy the domain yourself on nameflow.dev. See Buying a Domain.
If you'd rather just say "buy it", you can allow one app to buy domains with the card you saved at NameFlow:
- Save a card under Account, Card for renewals.
- Under Connected AI apps, choose Allow purchases for the app.
- Set your limits: the most per domain, domains a day and the most a month.
- Confirm. If you last signed in more than 15 minutes ago, choose Confirm it's you and sign in again; you come straight back to your settings.
If you connect the app again later, the new connection starts with purchases off. NameFlow offers to allow them with the same limits as before; nothing is allowed until you confirm.
Then, when you ask the app to buy a domain, it buys it straight away: the domain is registered to you for one year and your card is charged. NameFlow always checks first:
- Your limits. Anything over them is refused, and the app gives you a link instead.
- The price. The app says the most it will pay, and NameFlow re-checks the price. Nothing is bought above it.
- Premium names. Always your own decision: the app gives you the link.
- Speed. After two purchases in ten minutes, the app's purchases pause for a few minutes.
As with any order, your card is only charged once the domain is registered. If registration fails, nothing is charged.
You get an email for every purchase, with the domain, the price and a link to turn purchases off.
Changed your mind?
If an app bought a domain you didn't want, reply to the purchase email (or write to [email protected]) within 5 days. We cancel the registration and refund the full price. After 5 days the usual refund policy applies. The details are in our Terms of Service, section 19b.
Turning it off
Choose Turn off next to the app under Connected AI apps, or disconnect the app. Removing your saved card or resetting your password turns purchases off for every app. When our terms change, purchases stay off until you turn them on again.
