Browsing TLDs

The TLD directory lists every domain extension NameFlow can price: {{TLD_COUNT_DISPLAY}} of them, from .com to .xyz and hundreds of country codes. Use it when you want to compare extensions rather than check a specific name.

TLD stands for top-level domain: the ending of a domain name, such as .com, .io or .dev. "Extension" means the same thing.

The directory at /tlds

Each row shows an extension with its first-year price and renewal price in USD, a PROMO badge if the first year is discounted, and a notice if registration is restricted.

Search

Type in the search field to narrow the list, for example app or .shop. You can type with or without the dot.

Sort

Click a column header to sort by:

  • Extension (A to Z, or Z to A)
  • First-year price (cheapest or most expensive first)
  • Renewal price (cheapest or most expensive first)

Sorting by renewal is the quickest way to find extensions that stay cheap over the long term.

Extension pages

Every extension has its own page at /tlds/<extension>, for example /tlds/com, /tlds/dev or /tlds/ai. A page shows:

  • Prices: first year and renewal, with a promo notice where it applies
  • Registry: the organization that runs the extension
  • Registration rules: who may register, whether a local address or local activity is needed, and whether the registry verifies your email
  • Name length: the minimum and maximum number of characters allowed
  • Registration period: the shortest and longest term you can register for, in years
  • WHOIS privacy: whether the registry lets contact details be hidden from public lookups (NameFlow itself does not sell a privacy service)
  • Background and FAQs for many extensions, plus related extensions you might consider

Read TLD Rules and Restrictions for what each rule means in practice.

Useful ways to use the directory

Find a cheap, stable extension. Choose Open, then sort by renewal price, cheapest first. This shows extensions anyone can register that stay inexpensive year after year.

Check a promotion before you rely on it. Choose Promo and compare each first-year price with its renewal price. A large gap means the second year will cost much more.

Shortlist extensions for a name. Pick three to five extensions that fit your project, then search your name on the home page. Typing myname.shop checks that exact domain.

Check a country extension. Country-code extensions (.de, .ca, .com.au) often have residency rules. Open the extension's page before you plan around it.

Why some extensions are not listed

NameFlow lists extensions it can price and that have registration data. Some extensions are not offered by any public registrar (for example brand extensions such as .google), and a few are hidden while their data is incomplete.
